GLOBAL LEADERSHIP TRAINING EVENTS
KENYA, UGANDA & RWANDA
July 31, 2007 – August 13, 2007
Nairobi Kenya
Global Leadership Training Conference; August 1 - 4
Our third leadership conference in Nairobi was held at Nairobi Gospel Centre. Our host pastor and conference coordinator, Rev. Charles Mulema did an exemplary job in organizing and executing an excellent event. Over 500 pastors and church leaders attended the four day conference and we continue to receive testimonies of the great impact the teachings have made. Pastors Clay and Marlene Glickert, Tom Readyoff, Avi Adwalpalker and Pastor Gregg offered a wide array of topics including pastoral ethics, sexual integrity in the ministry, financial integrity, character in leadership, conflict management and marriage and family and more. Pastors from nations such as Tanzania, Congo, Ethiopia, Ghana, Nigeria and Kenya attended and received a conference manual & pen, sermon on CD, completion certificate and a book from Pastor Gregg. As well, meals were provided to everyone who attended and each person was charged a small registration fee of 500 Kenya shillings (about $7.70). During the conference, we met with a delegation from Tanzania to negotiate an “introductory” conference in Dar es Salam in 2008.
Free Dental Clinic; August 1 - 4
In conjunction with the above conference, a free dental clinic was held at St. Thomas Handshake Medical Clinic. This is the facility run by Dr. Ben Mugisha (we support him monthly). Over the four days of the clinic, Dr. Ben was assisted by Donna Adwalpalker and Kathy Dana and treated close to 140 patients almost all of whom required extractions.
Mukono Uganda
Global Leadership Training Conference; August 6 – 9
Our second leadership conference in Uganda was held at Deliverance Church outside of Kampala city. Our host pastor was Rev. Fred Ssali and conference coordinator was Rev. John Kabuye who both worked very hard to organize and facilitate a well executed event. Close to 500 pastors and church leaders attended the four day conference and deeply appreciated our teachings. Pastor Gregg was joined by Rev. Charles Mulema, Mark Wright and Avi Adwalpalker who taught on pastoral ethics, sexual integrity in the ministry, financial integrity, character in leadership, conflict management and marriage and family and more. Pastors from across Uganda attended and received a conference manual & pen, sermon on CD, completion certificate and a book from Pastor Gregg. As well, meals were provided to everyone who attended and each person was charged a small registration fee of 10,000 Uganda shillings (about $5.60).
Community Outreach
Mark Wright, Mike Dickerson and Tom Tolfree remained in Uganda to conduct 2 open air evangelistic crusades and several local church revival services. Reports show that their ministry was received and made a significant impact on those who participated.
Kigali Rwanda
Global Leadership Training Conference; August 9 - 10
Our first “introductory” conference in Rwanda was held at Global Mission Church in Rwanda’s capital city, Kigali. Our host pastor and conference coordinator was Jean Gatabazi, who is also the General Superintendent of the Rwanda Assemblies of God. He was assisted by his wife Christine. They did a great job, considering this was their first Global Leadership Conference. Over 300 pastors and church leaders attended the two day conference and were pleasantly surprised by the unique and important topics we addressed. Speakers included Pastor Gregg, Rev. Charles Mulema and Avi Adwalpalker who provided a condensed version of the above issues. Pastors from across Rwanda attended and received a conference manual & pen, completion certificate and a book from Pastor Gregg. As well, meals were provided to everyone who attended and each person was charged a small registration fee of 1000 Rwanda Francs (about $1.80). We are considering an invitation to return to Kigali next year to conduct a complete conference.
